Welcome to Lippincott Books

Lippincott Books, located in downtown Bangor, has over 30,000 used, rare and out of print books in stock. We have a general antiquarian stock: a large, eclectic collection with selected nonfiction in many categories and strong holdings in Maine history and literature, Canadiana, Arctic, Lumbering and the North Woods of Maine, and Eastern Woodland Indians. We also have detective and science fiction, vintage paperbacks and pulp magazines. We've been in business since 1975.

We are close to the University of Maine and Bangor Theological Seminary, and have an extensive stock of literature, poetry and philosophy.

Bangor is the home of Stephen King and we do come across signed and limited editions as well as King's early work in locally published literary journals.

We buy estate libraries; new acquisitions added daily. We offer the opportunity to buy fresh finds from the private libraries, barns and attics of New England. Alas, most of our stock is not listed on the Internet, so we invite you to make a trip to Bangor and browse through our well organized collection.

We are open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. & Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 3 p.m. The best days to catch the owner & buyer of books are Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you have a particular interest, he may be able to dig out something unusual from works in progress.

Shipping Terms: Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If you are ordering an oversize book, or two or more volumes, we may contact you to let you know an extra shipping charge is required. We will need your agreement in order to process the order.

CANADIAN & OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS

Before proceeding with your order, contact us. We will reserve the book for you and quote postage. For an average weight/size book we charge $15 for Global Priority Mail. For oversize books and sets we will quote postage at cost.
